Onwards and Upwards!

Caius College Girl : the tale of a brave soldier!

The ground at Leicester today was absolutely dreadful and Caius College Girl really won with her heart today to secure this 6f handicap, what a gutsy performance it was! She travelled handy until half-way, came off the bridle at that point and under an amazing ride (once again!) from David Nolan, the filly just kept on finding more and more and stuck her head in front on the line.

I am absolutely delighted for her owner Clive Washbourn and I can't thank him enough for his invaluable support.

Caius College Girl is now heading to the Horses-In-Training sale at Tattersalls in Newmarket on October 26th. She will be Lot 35 and will definitely be a shrewd investment for a breeder.

She is by Royal Applause out of a dam by Galileo and a second dam by Danehill (Galileo/Danehill is the same cross as the ultimate champion FRANKEL) and is closely related to DESERT KING (Irish Derby GrI, Irish 2000 Guineas GrI and National St GrI). Royal Applause is reknown to give his progeny speed and precocity, Galileo is a chef-de-race whose overall success is absolutely extraordinary so the genetic pool of Caius College Girl makes her a very exciting prospect for most breeders. She is a well-made filly, refined with a correct conformation and an intelligent head. She also has a great nature, is easy to deal with and has the best thing a racehorse can have: the WILL TO WIN.

Caius College Girl is now the winner of 2 races both over 6f at 2 and 3.
