Thundering blue was entered into the group 3 Stockholm Cup after his group 2 win and 3rd place finish in the Juddmonte International. Hopes were high for this race as Thundering Blue was going to be the highest rated horse to ever run in Sweden. Fran Berry was on board again and he was very confident of Thundering Blue's chances of winning. He was drawn in stall 2 and Fran was happy enough to start the race at the back of the pack. As the race progressed it was quite clear that he would be there or there abouts as he was picking off runners one by one moving up the field. When they straightened up after the last bend all he had to pass were Crowned Eagle and Our Last Summer and with a furlong and a half left Thundering Blue had caught and passed them to win the Stockholm Cup.
It was one of the most impressive and dominant runs from Thundering Blue. A huge thank you has to be given to the team as this was Thundering Blue's first foreign voyage and he was cared for and handled brilliantly.
