Onwards and Upwards!

Having won the Sky Bet York Stakes a few weeks prior to the Juddmonte International, Thundering Blue was supplemented for the Juddmonte International were he would face the best of the best Britain and Ireland has to offer over 1 mile 4 furlongs those included Roaring lion, Saxon Warrior, Poet's word and Benbatl. Thundering Blue was a complete outsider but the lovable grey had the backing of many fans of horse racing hoping he could cause an upset. Coming out of the gates Thundering Blue sat towards the rear of the field alongside Saxon Warrior, a real tactical battle soon followed with the horses going to the far side of the track boxing in one of the favourites Poet's Word and making life difficult for horse and jockey. This however didn't affect Thundering Blue quite so much as he battled on 2 and half furlongs out still at the rear of the field Fran Berry asked Thundering Blue to push on and a path soon opened up directly in front of him as he gradually moved from last to 3rd beating some great horses like Saxon Warrior, Benbatl and Without Parole. Thundering blue ran superbly and was deservedly placed showing everyone how good he actually is.
