David’s comments –
This lovely-looking colt is a mid-May foal. Physically, he is very well put together, has a good, even walk, and displays a kind temperament.
His dam, Birch Grove who is by Galileo, is a listed winner in France over 1 mile. The second dam, Danehurst, is by Danehill and was a sprinter running over 5 to 6 furlongs, winning the Flying Five, which is now a Group 1 race. The pedigree also includes top sprinter Shaquille.
Despite being a May foal, I anticipate that this colt will be quite sharp, and I would like to run him a few times as a two-year-old next summer. I envision him starting at a distance between 6 and 7 furlongs, and eventually stepping up to a mile over time. While he is a bit sharper than the types we usually buy, I believe he has the potential to be more than just a sprinter and to improve over time as he matures. He comes from a highly respected farm, Ecurie des Monceaux, known for being leaders in the French breeding and consigning market, which reassures me that he has been raised properly.
