David’s comments –
This colt is truly eye-catching; he is strong, sturdy, and has a powerful appearance. He is sired by Saxon Warrior, the 2000 Guineas winner, who was an exceptional racehorse and is now establishing himself as a creditable stallion. Saxon Warrior is one of the few sons of Deep Impact at stud and has produced several top performers among his offspring.
The colt’s dam is unraced, however, she is by Giant’s Causeway, a sire known for producing excellent broodmares. The second dam is Mandesha, a remarkable filly who won six times over distances ranging from one mile to one and a half miles, including three Group 1s in France.
His entire pedigree is associated with the Aga Khan line, which adds to his credibility. I anticipate that this colt will begin to come to hand around July or August next year, racing a few times before going on to improve as a three-year-old. While Saxon Warrior won three times as a two-year-old, he continued his success as a three-year-old, and we will hopefully see the same trait with this colt.
