David’s comments –
This colt caught my eye at the Arqana Yearling sale and I had him on my shortlist. However, at the time, he was dealing with a foot abscess, so he wasn’t shown to his full potential. His owner and breeder, Chris Wright, initially decided to keep him, but I negotiated a 75% ownership share under All For One Racing IX. Chris will retain 25% ownership, and the horse will run under the All For One Racing colours.
I am very familiar with this horse’s family, as the colt’s dam is the sister to the champion Lope De Vega. She is also a half-sister to Danceteria, who was my first Group 1 winner. This is a lineage I hold in high regard, and I’m excited to train this horse for the syndicate.
The colt is by Victor Ludorum, who is by Shamardal and comes from Shamardal’s immediate family. Victor Ludoroom was an undefeated Group 1-winning juvenile, just like Shamardal, and he also claimed the Group 1 French Guineas title. He holds the record for being the fastest colt to race Deauville’s straight mile and won all three of his starts at two, including the Group 1 Lagardère, and also finished behind Baaeed in the Group 1 Prix du Moulin.
